Key features of IGCSE and GCE A Level.
IGCSE : Examination is taken at the end of 2 year study (9th and 10th class).
GCE – A Level : United qualifications. Each subject is divided into 4 or 6 Units
- Assessment checks analytical skills and subject knowledge.
- Exams are 100% externally assessed with written alternative to practical exams.
- Exams are conducted twice a year – In January and June.
- Students can resist a full subject for grade improvement in IGCSE.
- Students can re-sit one unit for grade improvement at GCE ‘A’ Level.
- Positive Marking : Students are given credit for demonstrating what they know, understand and can do rather than be penalized for what they do not know.
- E-pen marking scripts : Answer scripts of students are scanned and marked electronically by subject experts.
No human bias in marking : Human bias is removed during marking as different questions are marked by different examiners/assessors |
