With reference to the letter no. MCI-34(1)/2007-Med./1592 dated 13.9.2007 where you had advised the University of Cambridge to approach the CBSE regarding the clarifications of English Language Advance Subsidiary (Code No. 8693), the Board is of the view that the equivalence regarding language  proficiency between CBSE and the AS Level English Language Course 8693 offered by the University of Cambridge may be granted subject to the stipulation that the AS Level should be extended to second year (standard 12) also instead of standard 11 alone and should form a part of the external examination at Class 12.
