This has reference to your letter dated 10th August, 2004 (received on 30th June, 2005) seeking clarification on the parity of GCE/IGCSE and ‘A’ level qualifications.
We would like to inform you that 5(five) passes at GCE ‘O’ Level’/IGCSE/IGCSE in Grade ‘A’ ‘B’ and ‘C’ and 2(two) 3(three) passes at GCE ‘Advanced’ level of the approved British Examining Bodies have Indian Board giving access to the bachelor degree programmes at Indian Universities. The candidates intending to join medical or engineering degree programmes are required to have obtained ‘Advanced’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and English besides 5(five) passes at GCE ‘O’ level/IGCSE Examination.
