OUR SCHOOL LOGOS AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE

1. SRI logo coming in the centre of our three logos, originates from the very first sacred letter of Sanskrit, the World’s oldest and cousin of all languages of Europe, Middle East and Asia.  Veda Vyas Maharishi, who wrote the world’s oldest epic started with SRI letter in naming it as Sri Mahabharath.   SRI indicates Shubham (good)/ wealth/ auspiciousness.  That is why SRI is added before the names of all Gods and Goddesses and human beings in India.  It is the powerful, sacred and goodluck word in Sanskrit,  which is the mother of Aryan Languages.

The symbol of Sri International derives from the idea that school is a temple of learning, an institution implying permanence, stability, duty, a certain sense of size and space both physical and perceptual.  This space embraces the seeker of knowledge, giving focus, identity and belonging.  The constituent parts of the symbol have been abstracted from the letter ‘S’.  The inner constituents represent a gopuram or a steeple formed by hands, implying shelter, protection and care, enveloping the circle that is part of the upper torso of a child with arms outstretched towards learning in exuberance and joy.  The circle also denotes continuity, perfection and balance. The blue colour represents knowledge and the greeen colour stands for creativity and growth.  The entire symbol is balanced and strongly rooted, yet possessing a sense of upward thrust and direction.  The fluid curves lend an oriental touch and a strong sense of dynamism and activity.

2. The GLOBAL School  stands for Takshila to Harvard Education World School.  In the Pre-Medieval Period, India was the centre of world civilization. Takshashila was the first university established in India thousands of years Before Christ, had more than thirty thousand students from Europe and other countries, studying more than 60 subjects.

Most of the scientific inventions were made in Ancient India. Indus Valley civilization flourished  on the banks of river Indus (Sri Sindhu) during 3000 B.C. to 1500 B.C.and it was famous for its several contributions in the development of human civilizations.  Our country’s name is also taken from the river’s name Indus.

Indus Valley civilization sites include Harappa in the district (Montgomery) of  Punjab, Mohenjodaro in Larkana district of Sind, Kalibangan in Rajasthan, Lothal near Ahmedabad (Gujrat), Ropar near Chandigarh and Banwali in Hissar district of Punjub.

Kautilya (Chanikya) who was a minister of Chandragupta Maurya (321 - 289 B.C.) wrote Artha Shastra - a treatise on State Craft (Political Economy).   Arya Bhatta, Varaha Mihira and Brahma Gupta were great mathematicians and astronomers of Gupta’s Golden Age.  Zero was invented by Arya Bhatta, the great Indian astronomer who discussed about quadratic equations, eclipses etc.   Dhanvantari was a great physician lived during this period. Algebra was developed by Indians and Greeks.  Ayurveda was our earliest system of medicine.  Germ theory was well known to Shushruta and Charaka knew about anaesthetic use for operations.  Our Gurukul system of education enforced the principles of respect for parents and teachers (Maathru Devo Bhava and Acharya Devo Bhava).

Albert Einstein emphasized that India invented number system and other scientists of the West paid glowing tributes to our Indian thought.  Our Vedas, Upanishads and epics like Valmiki Ramayan, Shree Mahabharath, Bhagvat Gita, etc. were great sources of inspiraton to many foreign intellectuals.   Foreign visitors studied our techniques of teaching in our famous universities like Takshashila and Nalanda.  It is to revive the glory of Takshashila and Nalanda in our system of education, we started with the First Letter of  our Logo with T standing for Takshashila.  To reflect not only the good values of our past but also the present technical values of the modern system of education, our next letter H stands for the World famous Harvard University and the third letter E stands for Education.  World stands for incorporation of  International Principles and Practices of Modern Human Thought.  And we give top priority to both Formal and Informal System of Education as indicated in our School Profile.  Thus, THE WORLD SCHOOL logo of our school reflects our true system of education.

3.SRI GLOBAL KIDS  We want our students to take pride in their rich Indian culture and its traditions and at the same time we want them to learn how to face the challeges of the present digital world in order to build a strong future for India and the World.  That is the reason why we have incorporated the third logo of SRI GLOBAL KIDS.  Our system of education is not just national but certainly global.  The present century students are the digitaly born children influenced by Information and Communication Technology (ICT).  Sri facilitates the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into the class room. This is intended to help pupils develop ICT skills and to support independent learning through the vast resources of the worldwide web.

As such, our sytem of education is a balanced combination of the past and present thoughts to suit for a bright global future.
